Introduction

Olympia Schools Open utilizes the British Parliamentary format—the global standard for university-level competition. By introducing this format now, we aim to provide your students with a competitive edge, ensuring a seamless transition into high-level debating as they progress to university.

Participation Details:

Integrated Tracks: Students may participate in only one track.

Debate Format:  British parliamentary with 4 Preliminary Rounds with 32 teams breaking to the out rounds under Junior (S.1-S.3) and Senior (S.4-S.6) categories respectively. A team is comprised of 2 students with each speech taking 7 minutes for Students doing debate may not participate in other tracks

Public Speaking, Quiz and Poetry Component. 3 Preliminary rounds and knockouts of semi-finals and finals.

Curriculum Alignment: This program is designed to complement Uganda’s Competence-Based Curriculum by fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication.

A school can register upto 10 students for debate. 15 for public speech, 10 for Poetry, and 5 for Quiz.
